Why do we have photos taken?

Posted by admin

As I am writing to potential clients now, I thought I would take a minute to talk about how I feel. At the DWF convention in January in Carefree, AZ an amazing man and a friend, David A. Williams was the keynote speaker. One of the things he spoke about is why it is important to have photos taken not just of your children, but with them.

I was a firefighter for 9 years and after everyone was safe I always tried to save the pictures. Some families had so many while others hardly had any. I then thought about this. When we are gone, what will be left? Memories and photos. What will your kids and their kids remember? If you have only photos of your kids, then there is nothing of you for them to have.

I know what you are thinking. I hate being in photos or I have to lose a little more weight, or blah blah blah. Tonight at dinner, look at our family, if you were suddenly gone, do you think they would care  if you were a little overweight in the photos? We both know the answer to this. Think about the photos you have of your parents, are there many of them or just the ones they had to be in at Uncle Joe’s wedding.

Wouldn’t you like more? Wouldn’t you like to see them as they grew up with their parents? Do you even remember what your grandparents look like or their parents before them? Do you want your family to be in the same position? While everyone is different most of the answers are similar, the ones that can remember or have many photos are the few and lucky ones.

So today is a brand new day for you. What are you going to do with it? Contact your photographer and make an appointment today! If you do not have a photographer, look for one, but look for a professional, the experience will usually be better. Then when you go to sleep tonight, you can rest easy that you are doing something not only for you but for your children and theirs to follow.
